A pioneer of the Brome-Missisquoi Wine Route, rooted since 1982 in the bucolic scenery of the Dunham Valley, this is definitely Quebec’s flagship winery, as Quebecers who drink more than 200,000 bottles of its 10 wines each and every year will attest. The Orpailleur owes this success to the audacity and the dream of four adventurers, who remain its owners to this day. A veritable viticulture mecca, the Orpailleur is a popular destination for visitors in search of local discoveries and a change of scenery. On site, its artisans will share their knowledge of the peculiarities of working in Quebec’s fields and explain their approach to sustainable farming. Visitors will also learn about winemaking, and to their delight, wine lovers can enjoy the fruits of the artisans’ labour. But above all, guests are invited to sample the passion that makes these enthusiastic artisans tick.
