Pied-de-Vent, the cheese making économusée located in the enchanting decor of Havre-aux-Maisons, is the third économusée to have opened its doors on the Magdalene Islands. Its founding artisans, Jérémie and Lucie Arseneau, as well as their successors, Dominique Arseneau, Jean-Philip Arseneau, and Renée Landry, and their entire team, offer delectable Tomme des Demoiselles, Jeune Cœur, ArtSenau cheddar, and cheddar curds, in addition to their famous Pied-de-Vent cheese. These cheeses contain no chemical additives and are made with the milk from one dairy herd fed only hay and feed available on the islands. Indeed, the stars of this économusée are the “Canadienne” cows. A visit to this économusée is a must for visitors wishing to learn the secrets behind the production of these authentic, totally organic products. Come savour new flavours and enjoy a unique gourmet experience. A guided tour of the Pointe-Basse Dairy Farm is also available.
